EVENT OVERVIEW
The 2010 M-PAY Africa will focus
on how the Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) in Africa can access all range
of financial services through the mobile phone. There will be a
special demonstration on how M-Payment can become mainstream in
capital market stocks trading, micro-insurance services, banking
services and government services.
This programme will arm attendees with successful strategies, new
ideas, and sufficient data to develop business cases. The inaugural
M-PAY Africa in Lagos, Nigeria in 2009 demonstrated how M-Payment is
becoming a mainstream business.
M-Payment 2010 will highlight the realities behind the business
models and existing deployments, while looking at what needs to be
adjusted as the industry moves forward.
The major themes of the event will include:
1. M-Insurance: How to develop
win-win solutions for insurers, delivery channels, and the low-income
market with mobile phone.
2. M-Stocks: How to enable investors to trade shares from the
comfort of their homes or offices, using the mobile phones.
3. M-Banking: How to determine the killer mobile banking
services in different regions.
4. M-Government: How governments in Africa can exploit the
mobile phone technology to enhance service delivery.
